We will renew the government-approved madrassa: Nitish Kumar

Patna, Ta. Wednesday 21st August 2019

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that we will renovate all madrassas in the state and provide good library facilities. We promised to fund Madrassa infrastructure in 2017 but that didn't happen for some reason.

He said that in addition to rebuilding all the madrasas, we will also provide facilities to the science laboratory and library. There are currently 2549 Madrasas in Bihar with government accreditation.

This is the first case in which a state government takes responsibility for the renovation of a madrasa. Earlier, the Madrassa Committee used to do such activities. The state government was only providing financial assistance. Now the state government has announced the work itself.

Bihar State Principal Secretary Amir Ansari said, "We have been approved by the central government for this scheme." An agency like Madrassa Board Nodal will be set up to carry out this work. The building construction department will help with this work.
