New Delhi, August 29, 2019, Thursday

Scientists have discovered a new way to purify contaminated water. This is a system for eliminating toxic arsenic in water with the help of agricultural waste. The discovery was made by a scientist at Varanasi, Indian Institute of Technology.

According to the spokesman, the sugarcane crusher has the potential to absorb arsenic contained in contaminated water. Similarly mango peel has the ability to absorb 97 percent arsenic. This quest to purify water from such waste of fruit will prove very useful in the long run. Details of this finding were published in the latest issue of Current Science magazine.

Dr. Devender Prasad, a researcher at the institute, said that this method is cheaper and more effective than other methods of purifying water. It is reduced to maximum use. Besides, this method is quite simple.
