The Central Government has announced the abolition of Article 1 applicable in Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, the status of special state of Jammu and Kashmir has also been abolished. As a result, a proposal to abolish the article was submitted to the Rajya Sabha on which Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to the discussions.

Shah expressed his opinion on the benefits of eliminating Articles 3 and 4 in the country and especially of Jammu and Kashmir. Amit Shah responded to the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, saying that because of Article 2, terrorism, corruption, poverty etc. have been raised in Kashmir. And if this evil is to be eradicated then Article 6 should be abolished.

Shah said that the central government brought a law for the right of every child to get education but due to Article 8 this law could not be implemented in Kashmir.

In Kashmir, tourism, industries could not be developed as no outside citizen could buy land in the state. But now the government is committed to make Jammu and Kashmir the most developed state in the country. Kashmir was, and will be, a paradise of earth, and now with the abolition of Article 3, the gates of development of the earthly paradise Kashmir have opened. Now no one can stop the development of the state.

Amit Shah, while presenting some figures in the Rajya Sabha, said that terrorism has killed three civilians in Kashmir. Whose policies are responsible for?

Article 4 is also responsible for terrorism, which, with the cancellation of Kashmir, is now truly an integral part of India. Due to this, the skilled youth of Jammu and Kashmir did not get a chance to come forward. Article 2 was not permanent but temporary, and how could it be applied permanently if temporary? Its cancellation was vital to the development of Kashmir. Now no one can stop the development of the state.

The important role of the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir in the removal of Article 4

The plan to make Jammu and Kashmir a union territory was decided a year ago. The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will increase by seven seats

After Jammu and Kashmir becomes Union Territory, it will be nominated and accordingly the state legislature will increase by seven seats.

In the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the six seats of Pakistan-owned Kashmir are left vacant, with the total number of members in the legislative assembly, which is now about 5, in the Ladakh region. After the new delimitation of the state, Ladakh will become a new Union Territory without a separate legislative assembly. Jima Kargil and Leh districts will be included.

This would not happen naturally in the Congress governments as the decision was taken under Nehru's policy, but neither the non-Congress Prime Ministers nor the Home Ministers took the bold step to remove it. After the crisis, Morarjibhai Desai became Prime Minister. At that time, he did not make any new decision in this direction.

India informed the five permanent members of the UN about the decision on Kashmir

India's decision to repeal Article 2 of the Constitution, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to split the state into two, was reported to the representatives of the five permanent members of the United Nations and to other countries. India had told foreign diplomats that it was our internal decision.

The intention of the Center is to make the state of Jammu and Kashmir good governance, social justice and economic prosperity. It was found that Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale had informed the delegates of the United Nations Permanent Member States of America, Britain, France, China and Russia. Other senior officials had reported the decision to representatives from other countries.
