Heavy bombardment of Pakistani army over control, no casualties

Jammu, August 6, 2019, Tuesday

Pakistani troops on Tuesday disrupted a ceasefire, targeting villages near the Line of Control and Indian Army outposts.

At 12.40am from the outskirts of the border, firing was started in the area around the Sunderbans sector. The Indian army also responded in the opposite direction. The firing on the sides from both sides went off at 2.30pm. There was no casualties due to Pakistani firing.

The Pakistani army broke the ceasefire for the second time in four days. On August 3, Pakistani rangers also bombarded Poonch district in the Mehdar sector. Two jawans and only a ten-day-old baby were killed in a Pakistani bombardment in Rojouri and Poonch districts last month, leaving several civilians injured.
