Doctors strike unchanged in Delhi: Hundreds of patients lost

(PTI) New Delhi, Ta. August 2, 2019, Friday

In protest to the passage of the National Medical Commission Bill in the Lok Sabha, all resident doctors of Delhi today increased the halality of hundreds of patients by terminating all services.

However, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan appealed to doctors to stop the strike and climb to work. Doctors affiliated with several organizations opposed some of the bill's provisions, alleging that all provisions were 'anti-patient, anti-poor and non-democratic'.

The association of resident doctors affiliated with AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, Ram Manohar Lahia Hospital and the Federation of Doctors closed work on Thursday and made observations on the issue.

As a result, hundreds of patients from several hospitals in Delhi are having difficulty. Some patients even came from neighboring states. Poonam, 50, from Uttar Pradesh, said he had brought his ailing daughter to Delhi on Thursday but has not been cured yet.

'After coming to Delhi, I came to know that there was a doctors strike. I had to treat a daughter to a doctor. I do not know how we will live in Delhi. Currently we spend the night on the road, 'said Poonam Devi. Located in East Delhi, Dr. Hedgewar Hospital has a large number of OPDs. Patients also had to be felled.
