Patna, Ta. Friday 30th August 2019

The incident took place when Ramshankar Singh, a building contractor who was building a house of a chief engineer in Bihar's Gopalganj area, went to collect the remaining amount.

The Chief Engineer's house was constructed at a cost of Rs. It was the responsibility of Ramshankar to construct it. Chief Engineer Muralidhar Singh sought a bribe of Rs 15 lakh to approve the remaining 60 lakhs after the house was built. Ramashankar Singh was not ready to give it and hence his bill did not pass. For the past several months, Ramashankar Singh had been pushing for the remaining six million. Muralithar Singh did not pass the bill without receiving bribe.

On Thursday, when Murshidhar Singh went for money, angry Muralidhar Singh and his associates burned Ramshankar alive. He died on the way to the hospital while he was being taken to the hospital. The Superintendent of Police of Gopalganj had formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the incident. Police do not understand how Muralitharan Singh, who was there, set fire to the body of Ramashankar Singh.
